March General Meeting

Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 10:00 AM

Location: Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1416 Bolton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Time: 10:00 - 10:30 AM

Program: Chinese New Year

Speaker:  Eileen Lynch

Eileen Lynch is back with us again this year to share her knowledge and love of the Chinese New Year. Eileen first began giving presentations in her children’s school classes, and as her audience grew, so did her passion for sharing these traditions with others. She will talk about each zodiac sign and its horoscope for the year, as well as traditional celebrations surrounding the Chinese New Year.

The Chinese year 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse. This exciting year is known for its amplified energy, passion, and dynamism -- a mix of the Horse’s spirited nature and the bold influence of the Fire element. It stands for freedom, adventure, and strong forward motion, bringing both wonderful opportunities and the potential for a bit of spirited conflict.

Please join us afterward for a special lunch celebrating Chinese culture at New Sichuan, 2125 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem.

Her personal and professional passion is the advocacy for individuals who are not able to advocate for themselves. The Sticht Center serves as the major catalyst for developing models and coordinating clinical care, research and education across all departments at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. This Center is part of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in geriatric research and clinical care. The center provides regional and national models of health care that improve the health of seniors in the Piedmont region and beyond.

Join us for a relaxed and engaging morning as we enjoy delicious dishes and dive into a thoughtful conversation about the extraordinary friendship between Eleanor Roosevelt and Mary McLeod Bethune. Whether you’ve finished the book or are still reading, your insights and company are welcome!

The First Ladies is a historical fiction novel that reimagines the extraordinary friendship and partnership between First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights leader Mary McLeod Bethune. Set from the late 1920s through the 1940s, the story follows how these two formidable women—from very different backgrounds—meet and form a bond rooted in shared commitments to women’s rights, education, and racial justice.

Potluck Note:  Please bring your favorite brunch dish to share—sweet, savory, or somewhere in between. We have no post-meeting lunch scheduled. We look forward to a lovely gathering full of food, friendship, and great conversation!

Program:  Take a Seat and Stretch: Chair Yoga for Senior Women

Our session will be led by N&N’s very own Laura DeCinque, who has been a group exercise instructor for nearly 15 years, getting her start by working out at YMCAs. Laura enjoys helping others get fit and encouraging lifestyle changes as we age. Chair yoga is perfect for anyone who wants to stay active without having to get down on the floor. Using a sturdy chair for support, we will stretch, breathe, and move through simple poses that help improve balance, flexibility, and posture — all while staying comfortable and safe. Laura’s demonstration will include gentle movements, mindful breathing, and moments of relaxation that leave you feeling calm, refreshed, and renewed.

Here are just a few of the benefits you may enjoy:

💜 Better balance and flexibility

💜 Less stiffness and more mobility

💜 Reduced stress and improved sleep

💜 Connection and laughter with friends

Come take a seat, stretch, and breathe with us — it’s the perfect way to care for your body, relax your mind, and share a little joy with friends.
